Prop Hire from One Curious Dream – FAQ’s.


Where are you based?
The One Curious Dream prop hire studio is based in the city centre of Norwich, Norfolk – there are several car parks within walking distance.


Can I view your prop hire collection?

Absolutely. We are happy to offer a free, no-obligation decor and styling session with one of the team at our prop hire studio. We work on an appointment only basis so get in touch to check availability.


How do I make a booking?

Get in touch with the props and pretties you are interested in hiring (including anything you are looking for that isn’t pictured – we may well have something that fits the bill in our collection) along with the date and venue for your wedding. We will check availability for you and get the booking paperwork and deposit invoice organised from there.


Payment Terms

In order to secure your booking, our payment terms are as follows:

Bookings under £50: Full payment (which is non-refundable) for bookings up to the value of £50.

Bookings between £50 – £200: £50 non-refundable deposit with balance payable 30 days prior to wedding.

Bookings over £200: 25% of total booking value with balance payable 30 days prior to wedding.


Damage Deposit and Handover Appointments

A £100 cash Damage Deposit is payable at the check out Handover Appointment.

A 15 minute check out / check in appointment will be organised with one of our team either at our studio or your venue. All hired goods will be inspected on the check out (when we hand the props over to you) and you will be asked to sign a document confirming the satisfactory condition of each item. On the check in Handover Appointment (where we receive the props back into our care) each item will be inspected for damage and in cases where this is found (or loss occurs) the replacement cost outlined on your booking paperwork will be deducted from your damage deposit. Any damage or loss that exceeds the replacement cost outlined in your booking paperwork will be invoiced and becomes payable within 7 days of issue.


Delivery & collection

We offer a delivery and collection service for bookings over £75. Mileage is charged from our prop hire studio (NR3 1DJ) to your venue at 45p per mile and is invoiced as per the google maps calculation. We happily accept bookings under £75, however, we are unable to offer delivery /collection and therefore these will need to be collected and returned to our prop hire studio.

Our studio is open for collections and returns on the following days/times:

  • Fridays – 9am -1pm
  • Sundays – 10am – 1pm
  • Mondays – 6.30pm – 7.30pm

If you need to make a collection or complete a return outside of these hours, we will always try to accommodate your request, subject to staff availability. However, this cannot be guaranteed.

If we are making a collection from your venue, all items must be packed in the One Curious Dream packaging provided and ready for collection at the agreed time. We reserve the right to deduct a fee from your damage deposit in the event that our props are not packaged appropriately and ready for collection at the agreed time.


How long is the hire period for?
In most cases, this is 72 hours allowing a day for drop off / set up (if appropriate), the hire day itself, followed by the collection day. We will always work with you to find the best solution and come up with an option that works so don’t worry if this hire period doesn’t quite fit with your plans.


What if I need to cancel?
You can cancel up to 30 days prior to the hire date where we will refund everything excluding the non-refundable deposit. Sadly, if you need to cancel within 30 days of the event, no refund will be provided.
